Our September 2009 Project - The Dunes Bible Camp, Ocean Park WA is located 2 miles south of Ocean Park , WA on the beautiful Long Beach Peninsula. There main campus has 15 beach side acres with an Olympic size pool, a gym, 2 chapels, 2 smaller meeting areas, a lunch facility that holds 300 people, two play fields, and numerous bunk houses. The Dunes also has acreage on Loomis Lake, just 2 miles south of the main campus. The Dunes is a member of Christian Camping International and .
Mens Work Install an approximately 6’ tall board fence around the camp fire amphitheater: remove existing deteriorated fence, replace some RR tie posts, install rails cut and install rough sawn board from camp saw mill. Install chain Link Fence on Pickle Ball Court Wall: Remove Block caps at pole locations, concrete in posts, cut and reinstall cap blocks, install top rails, stretch and install fence panels. Build 18 seven foot picnic tables: cut lumber for all parts from pattern (old table), assemble leg assembles, assemble tables. Install approximately 80’ of 4’ board fence on camp perimeter. Replace doors at gym. Replace window at Loomis Lake house.
Ladies Work: Clean kitchen from summer camps. Paint baths and dorm rooms in gym.
Socials: A night of games and snacks A “Low Country Boil” hosted by Jim Pickin A camp fire hot dog - smore roast (camp staff invited) An appreciation dinner hosted by the camp
Tours: Ilwaco and the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum Astoria and the Columbia River Maritime Museum The Flavel House Museum and Historic Fort Stevens State Park OR One weekend we had a visit from our son and daughter-in-law Jaye and Donna from Olympia. We enjoyed touring Fort Clatsop and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center at Cape Disappointment with them.
