Waters Edge is A Ministry of the Eastern Michigan District Church of the Nazarene. Water's Edge Camp & Conference Center serves both the Eastern Michigan District Church of the Nazarene and a variety of churches and community groups throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. They  accommodate groups ranging in size from 8 to 250.

Five RVICS couples were on project at Waters Edge. Our leaders,  Keith & Linda Wyeth tried to keep us in line but -- . The other workers were Roger & Arlene Dykstra, Ed & Myrna Moran, George & Leona Moreno, and of course, us.

During our time at Waters Edge, the men renovated the workers cabin, prepared bunks for the ladies, fixed a furnace, remodeled the office, wired the boat house, and disposed of a dead cat from under to office. The cabin renovation included framing walls, rewiring, installing new doors, drywall, and painting. My contibution was installing the doors, repairing the siding, hanging drywall, mudding and painting.

The ladies worked in the office a few days, did some cleaning, did some gardening, but mostly painted. They painted 30 bunks, spots in the living room and a bedroom in our meeting house, the office, and the building the men renovated.

On tour days, we visited the Jiffy Baking Company in Chelsea and the Tetford plant in Dexter, went to the Planetarium at MSU in Lansing (we missed that one - were in Traverse City), and Spicer’s Apple Orchard
